Otar Shamugia participates in the opening of the Largest International Import Exhibition in Shanghai.

The Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mr. Otar Shamugia, participated in the opening of the sixth China International Import Expo (CIIE), the largest international import exhibition in Shanghai- People's Republic of China. Georgia is represented in several pavilions, organized by "Produce in Georgia" as part of the exhibition.

 

"The People's Republic of China and Georgia have a very close and fruitful cooperation. The strategic partnership initiative announced during the visit of the Prime Minister of Georgia to China this summer, which will raise the two countries’ relations to an even higher level, should be emphasized.  The efforts taken by the governments of both countries to deepen cooperation are crucial, however, the activities and initiatives of private companies play an important role in the mentioned process," stated Mr. Otar Shamugia.

 

At the Georgian Pavilion, Mr. Otar Shamugia hosted the Deputy Minister of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Ling Ji, who stated that the visit of the Georgian Delegation to the exhibition, at such a high level confirms the strategic partnership and lays the foundation for closer and stronger collaboration. 
According to the Deputy Minister, the Chinese side is eager to support the expansion of trade relations, particularly to promote the export of Georgian wine to the Chinese market.

 

 About 40 Georgian companies participated in the China International Import Expo (CIIE) organized by the Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia - "Produce in Georgia". 

 

The beneficiaries of the Agency exposed their export products to international visitors, providing an excellent opportunity to establish connections with large international companies. The expo features Georgian wine, alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks, agricultural products, leather items and accessories, and children's clothing.

The national pavilion displays information from several state Agencies, such as the Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency, the National Tourism Administration, the National Wine Agency, the Mountain Tracks Agency, and the Georgian Railways, aiming to raise awareness of Georgia. The visitors at the National Pavilion will get familiar with Georgia's tourism, investment, and transport potential through videos and information pamphlets.

The Georgian Delegation included the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. Otar Shamugia, the Deputy Ministers of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Mr. Genadi Arveladze and Mr. Irakli Nadareishvili, the Georgian parliamentary delegation comprising Mr. Gela Samkharauli and Mr.  Zaal Dugladze; Mr. Mikheil Khidureli, Director of the Agency "Produce in Georgia"; and Mr. Archil Kalandia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to China.
