The 5th International Conference was held as part of the "FinExCoop Georgia" Project.

During the 5th International Conference: "Development of Agricultural Cooperation in Georgia in EU Accession Perspective", the parties discussed the current state of the agricultural cooperatives development in Georgia, prospects, and the ways to approach the international cooperative society.

The conference was held under the project " Finance, Extension and Cooperative Development for Georgian Farmers" (FinExCoop Georgia).

The European Union is funding the project "FinExCoop Georgia" through the European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD), with support from the French Development Agency (AFD).

The project is jointly implemented by the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, MERCY CORPS, Rural Development for Future Georgia (RDFG), and Chambre Agriculture de Loiret.

As mentioned, the conference is an important step forward in strengthening long-term agricultural cooperation in Georgia, aiming to develop specific institutional and technical proposals to establish European Union-similar types of cooperatives in Georgia.

The "FinExCoop Georgia" project is implemented within the scope of the ENPARD program, which promotes the strengthening of cooperatives in the country, access to financing, and the sharing of European Union best practices.

The Chair of the Agrarian Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, Mrs.Nino Tsilosani, emphasized the amendments made in the Law of Georgia on ''Agricultural Cooperatives'' within the project, noting that the mentioned amendments were positively assessed in the EU report.

The closing ceremony of the "FinExCoop Georgia" project, embracing the discussion on achieved outcomes, followed the International Conference "Development of Agricultural Cooperation in Georgia in EU Accession Perspective".
