Otar Shamugia participated in the ''Economic Forum''.

During the "Economic Forum", the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr.  Otar Shamugia, discussed the implemented and ongoing agricultural programs, emphasizing field-related achievements and challenges.

The Manager of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Mr. Nodar Kereselidze, Director General of the Bank of Georgia, Mr. Archil Gachechiladze, representatives of state agencies, business sector, industry associations participated in the discussion held within the framework of the  "Economic Forum".
Mr. Giorgi Abashishvili, the Founder and Head of "Business Insider Georgia" moderated the discussion.

 

In his remarks, Minister Shamugia declared that the state will continue to support agricultural development to create more high-quality agricultural products that will be competitive on the European market, noting that all mentioned above is essential in today's reality when Georgia is awaiting the EU candidate status.

 

"It is important to mention that all 15 programs being implemented by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture to support all links in the value chain of the agricultural sector are currently underway. We will have novelties / fresh initiatives in the various components of the programs;

 

This is a natural process since we make changes in different projects through cooperation with farmers, associations, and field representatives based on current needs. We will have novelties next year as well.

 

The state will continue to actively support the further development of the agricultural sector, including the provision of equipment and further expansion of processing and storage enterprises. The support will continue in marketing, specifically, diversifying and promoting our products on global markets." Mr. Otar Shamugia said.
