Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture hosted a coordination meeting to discuss the implementation of the recommendations stipulated in the European Commission report.

The First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mrs. Nino Tandilashvili, Deputy Ministers Mr. Tengiz Nasaridze, Mr. Solomon Pavliashvili, and Mr. Kakha Kakabadze convened a coordination meeting with the representatives of the relevant services of the Ministry to address the implementation of the recommendations envisaged by the European Commission report, issues of coordination, and elaboration of the action plan.

"The recommendations of the European Commission to grant Georgia EU candidate status reflects the success of the Government of Georgia and the Georgian people, including the recognition of the efforts our country has been making over the years. I am confident the European Council will make a favorable decision in December, and Georgia will be given candidate status to join the European Union. Accordingly, this decision, including an important historical event, is a tremendous responsibility.
We need to double our efforts to implement the recommendations of the European Commission report and make more progress. Georgia's membership in the European Union is a further step, and I am confident we will achieve this result shortly", said Mrs. Nino Tandilashvili.

The First Deputy Minister also focused on the progress and challenges outlined in the European Commission's report. According to the report, the Government has achieved tremendous progress in implementing food safety standards, including fisheries, air protection, and quality improvement.

The parties discussed the ways to elaborate an action plan and carry out short-term initiatives. As stated, the meetings will be held regularly.
