Otar Shamugia: " This year, a record-high financing of GEL 19 million is allocated to promote Georgian products".
"Market diversification is one of our top priorities. We annually expand our efforts and funding to promote Georgian products in priority markets. This year, a record-high GEL 19 million GEL is allocated in this regard", said the candidate for the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. Otar Shamugia, at the joint session of the committees.
The candidate for the position of Minister noted that the viticulture and winemaking field is developing, and the income from exports is increasing due to the state-targeted policy. Last year, the harvest was organized - up to 221 thousand tonnes of grapes were processed. Farmers' income from selling grapes exceeded GEL 300 million. We will continue to support the industry. At the same time, strengthening the traceability tools and quality control is crucial, for which we have launched the mandatory certification of products intended for sale on the domestic market. Also, we completed the vineyard cadaster program, which included detailed information on 48,700 ha of area.
