Otar Shamugia meets Boban Ilic, Secretary General of the Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG) in Southeast Europe.
The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mr. Otar Shamugia, met with Mr. Boban Ilic, Secretary General of the Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG) in Southeast Europe.
During the meeting, the Minister emphasized the importance of Georgia -becoming an observer in the Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG) in Southeast Europe and thanked the Secretary-General for the mentioned initiative.
" For us, as a nation striving for EU membership, it is especially important and accountable to become an observer in the Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG) in Southeast Europe. Membership in the European Union is a unanimous choice of the Georgian people. We have made significant progress on the road to European integration, but challenges remain, in which the sharing of experience and support of partner countries is crucial. I believe that by being a part of the group, we will be able to share the best practices and experiences gained in the agricultural and environmental protection fields, which will enable us to fulfill our commitments under the Association Agreement in a timely and efficient manner", said Mr. Otar Shamugia.

Since 2005, the Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG) in Southeast Europe has been an international intergovernmental organization dedicated to advancing the sustainable development of rural and agricultural principles through continuous collaboration with stakeholders.
The Deputy Minister, Mr. Tengiz Nasaridze, and representatives of relevant services of the Ministry attended the meeting at the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.
