Setting up of a hunting farm in the Lanchkhuti municipality has been discussed at the meeting.

The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, in cooperation with Lanchkhuti Municipality City Hall, organized a public discussion on setting up a hunting farm in the state forest area of Lanchkhuti Municipality.

 

The representatives of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and relevant services included in the system of the Ministry, including local self-government and stakeholders, attended the meeting.

 

 

The representatives of the Ministry provided the participants with comprehensive information on issuing a special hunting license in the 625 ha of the Jumati forest area, discussed future events, and answered questions.

 

As stated by Mr. Carl Amirgulashvili, Head of the Department of Biodiversity and Forestry of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, the breeding of species should be carried out, on one hand, and, on the other hand, proper hunting practices should be adopted in the mentioned area.

 

The representatives of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and local self-government expressed their willingness to meet with the local community living in the villages surrounding the hunting area.


At the initiative of the local community and hunters, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture has started working on establishing a hunting farm in the territory of Lanchkhuti Municipality.

The Hunter's Society of Georgia applied to the National Environmental Agency and requested to hold an auction and issue a special license for setting up the hunting farms.
