Francesco Lollobrigida: "Georgia chose the right path by focusing on quality rather than quantity in wine production.
The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Otar Shamugia, participated in the Ministerial meeting held by the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV) in the city of Brescia, Republic of Italy.

Italian Minister for Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests, Mr. Francesco Lollobrigida thanked his Georgian counterpart for participating in the ministerial meeting and stressed the significance of the existing cooperation with the Georgian Authorities.

"Georgia is an important partner for us, with which we should further deepen cooperation towards utilization of specific markets and quality production. Georgia chose the right path by focusing on quality rather than quantity in wine production. We once again confirm our readiness to actively cooperate with Georgia, both in wine production and other sectors", stated Mr. Francesco Lollobrigida in his speech at the Ministerial meeting.
It is worth mentioning that this year, the International Vine and Wine Organization is marking the 100th anniversary since its creation with various events. Among them is the Ministerial meeting held in the city of Brescia, which was attended by the Chairman of the National Wine Agency, Mr. Levan Mekhuzla, and the Consulate General of Georgia in the city of Milan, Mrs. Natalia Kordzaia, together with the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.Â
