Otar Shamugia: "Export of agro-food products amounted to USD 1.44 billion in 2023".
During the presentation of the 2023 report, the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. Otar Shamugia, focused on the export indicators of agro-food products, noting that the export indicators are steadily increasing.
" Georgian agri-food exports have increased by an average of 13% per year over the previous five years, reaching a record USD 1.44 billion in 2023, 15% more than in 2022. The geography of exporting countries is also expanding", said Mr. Otar Shamugia.
The export growth rate remained positive in 2024 as well. In the first quarter of this year, the value of the export of agro-food products from Georgia amounted to USD 365 million, which is 22% more than the indicator of the same period last year.
