Otar Shamugia: "More than 46,000 beneficiaries have received preferential loans totaling GEL 6 billion as part of the preferential agro credit program."

"Access to financial resources is an important tool for agricultural development. Among other initiatives, we have one of the largest programs: "Preferential Agrocredit", which covers almost all links of the value chain. Within the mentioned program, preferential agro credit worth GEL 6 billion has been issued to more than 46,000 beneficiaries, while state co-financed loan interest for over GEL 1 billion.

 

Before launching the preferential agro-credit program, according to the data of the National Bank, the portfolio of agro-loans amounted to GEL 56 million, and today, the active portfolio of the preferential agro-credit project is twenty times more – amounting to GEL 1.2 billion", said the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. Otar Shamugia during his remarks in the Parliament.
