Otar Shamugia: "Construction of a reservoir on the Ilto River will enable us to ensure better water supply on more than forty thousand hectares of land in the municipalities of Akhmeta, Telavi, Gurjaani, Sighnaghi, and Dedoplistskaro".

At the Parliamentary session, during the presentation of the 2023 report of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, the Minister, Mr. Otar Shamugia, focused on constructing an irrigation water reservoir on the Ilto River in the Kakheti region.

"The reservoir on the Ilto River will enable us to ensure better water supply on more than forty thousand hectares of land in the municipalities of Akhmeta, Telavi, Gurjaani, Sighnaghi, and Dedoplistskaro, which will further improve the socio-economic conditions for more than fifty thousand families employed in the agricultural sector. 
We're currently in the process of preparing tender procedures for the feasibility study. By the end of the year, the study should be completed. The events will be planned based on the results," said Mr. Otar Shamugia.
