The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture inspects the tea processing plant in the Tkibuli Municipality.

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. Otar Shamugia, along with the State Representative of Imereti region, Mr. Zviad Shalamberidze, and the Director of the Rural Development Agency, Mr.  Davit Tsitlidze, inspected the tea processing plant of the company "Tkibuli Mtis Chai" in the village of Zedubani, Tkibuli municipality.

By the end of 2024, the company plans to sell its premium quality products both domestically and abroad and create a tea crop culture center on the territory of the enterprise.

 

It is worth mentioning that "Tkibulis Mtis Chai" LLC has benefited from the rural development programs. The company "Georgian Mtis Chai" rehabilitated a 19.1 ha tea plantation under the Georgian Tea Plantation Rehabilitation Program and introduced an international food safety system in the tea processing enterprise with co-financing from the technical assistance program.

 

Under the tea plantation rehabilitation program, the rehabilitation of tea plantations on 1,708 hectares has been financed with GEL 3.5 million,  across Georgia, including ​​more than 900 hectares of land area in the Imereti region. 63 loans totaling GEL 10.1 million have been approved as part of the preferential agro-credit project for tea processing.
