Otar Shamugia meets greenhouse owners.

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. Otar Shamugia, reviewed greenhouse farming development issues while meeting with greenhouse owner farmers.

The conversation touched upon the challenges in producing annual crops.

‘’The Ministry implements a range of initiatives to assist farmers. We aim to promote Georgian agricultural production to the greatest extent possible, ensure local market sales and utilize export potential. I would point out that all state support projects will be developed by considering the discussions held with the representatives/experts of the agricultural sector, farmers, and entrepreneurs; hence, our initiatives will be tailored to their needs. Accordingly, we will further discuss our plans in all working meetings", - noted Mr. Otar Shamugia.

It is worth mentioning that the Ministry has undertaken numerous state initiatives towards creating and developing greenhouse farms, including the greenhouse pilot program for women farmers aiming to promote agricultural production. Supporting farmers for cultivating and growing crops in greenhouses continues within the framework of preferential agro-credit.
