With the coordination of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, in cooperation with business associations and car importers, the amendments were made to the resolution of the Government of Georgia of June 28, 2023, on introducing the Euro 5 (Euro 5b) vehicle emission standard.

The implemented changes will simplify and enhance the process of enforcing technical regulations and registering vehicles.
The updated regulation expands the list of documents to be submitted to the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia to confirm compliance with the vehicle emission limits and standards.

The mentioned amendment offers vehicle importers more flexibility in obtaining the required documents.Â
Â
It is worth mentioning that two new countries, Israel and China, have been added to the current list of other countries. The mentioned nations fully comply with the requirements equivalent to the Euro 5 standard.
Therefore, interested auto importers will no longer need the Ministry's conclusion/approval to register in Georgia automobiles older than one year, released in the same year, exported from China or Israel, or registered in the mentioned countries.

Simplified documentation control has been established in previously enrolled nations and two newly added countries, Israel and China.Â
