Blueberry exports from Georgia exceeded USD 26 million.

From May 1 to July 14, 2024, Georgia exported 4.5 thousand tonnes of blueberries, amounting to USD 26.2 million. 

 

The volume of exported blueberries increased by 1.6 thousand tonnes (56%), compared to the same period last year, while the value - by USD 9.1 million (53%).

Georgia exports blueberries mainly to Russia, Germany, Poland, the United Arab Emirates, Armenia, the Netherlands, Turkey, and other countries.

It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture actively supports planting new blueberry orchards. Within the state program "Plant the Future", 2,836 hectares of blueberry orchards have been planted throughout Georgia with the co-financing of GEL 53.5 million.

 

Blueberry export value increased by USD 5.6 million in 2024 compared to the previous year. As for the volume of exports, Georgia exported  3.4 thousand tonnes of blueberries in 2023.
