Restoration of the irrigation system in Dedoplistskaro municipality results in irrigating up to 500 hectares of agricultural land.

The rehabilitated mechanical irrigation system of Samtatskaro village serves the residents of the entire Kakheti region. The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr Otar Shamugia, accompanied by Mr Giorgi Aladashvili, the State Representative of Kakheti region, got familiar with the works carried out by the "Georgian Amelioration’’ LLC.

Upgrading the irrigation system in Dedoplistskaro Municipality enabled irrigation of up to 500 hectares of agricultural land in Samtatskaro village.


According to residents, irrigating the vineyards was extremely tough since they had to bring water themselves. Currently, several farmers irrigate their grapevines and concurrently avoid wasting water.

Within the rehabilitation project, a 24.5 km closed irrigation network, culverts, water intake points, and hydrants with wells were set on 11 distributors with metal pipes.
The contract value of the project is GEL 4.5 million.
