Otar Shamugia inspected the walnut processing enterprise created with state support in the Dedoplistskaro municipality.
The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr Otar Shamugia, inspected the walnut processing enterprise of "Roni" LTD, established in the Samtatskaro village, Dedoplistskaro municipality in 2022, with the state's financial support.
The company "Roni" invested GEL 3 million in the enterprise, including GEL 500,000 in a grant from the Rural Development Agency and GEL 1,200,000 from preferential agro-credit.
According to Guram Nakashidze, the founder of the enterprise, under full load conditions, the enterprise's productivity will reach 20-25 tonnes of dry walnuts per day. At this stage, the company sells its products in the domestic market. During the active labour season, the company employs 20 locals.
 "Roni" LTD is also a beneficiary of the state program "Plant the Future". In 2017, the company planted a walnut garden on 17 hectares, with the state co-financing of GEL 86,900.

It is worth mentioning that the preferential agro-credit provided for walnut processing exceeds GEL 29 million in Georgia, notably more than GEL 12 million issued in the Kakheti region.

Within the co-financing program for processing and storage enterprises, 270 companies throughout Georgia have been co-financed with GEL 126 million, including co-financing 49 enterprises with GEL 23 million in the Kakheti region.Â
