The hunting season for migratory birds will open on August 24, 2024.

The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia will open the hunting season on the fourth Saturday of August 2024 (August 24) following the ‘’Approval of Regulations on Animal Objects, the Rules of their Hunting According to the Species, Terms, and a List of Weapons and Equipment Permitted for their Hunting’’.

 

Those willing to hunt migratory birds will be able to hunt from the fourth Saturday of August to the first of March of the following year since the fee (10 GEL)  imposed on removing migratory birds from the wildlife is paid.

 

The fee can be paid at any bank in Georgia, receiving bank: State Treasury, bank code: 220 101 222, account number: â„–200122900, treasury code determining the type of budget receipts: 3033.

 

It is worth mentioning that hunting is prohibited in the areas established by the legislation of Georgia, in the administrative boundaries of Georgian cities, state reserves, national parks, Nugzar Zazanashvili Samukhi Multipurpose Use Protected Area, including in 500-meter zones around state reserves and 250-meter zones around national parks; on the areas of existing farms under the management/use of the National Wildlife Agency.

 

Hunting on migratory birds is prohibited with other weapons not specified in Article 7 of the Law of Georgia "On Weapons", specifically, smooth-bore firearms (rifle), hunting with bolt-action firearms (carbine or rifle), hunting with combined guns (bolt-action firearms and smooth-bore rifle), and hunting with cold or pneumatic weapons.
