''Georgian Olive Oil'' is constructing a new factory in Dedoplistskaro municipality to boost its olive oil output.

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. Otar Shamugia, and Giorgi Svanidze, the Head of the "Georgian Olive" company, symbolically placed a capsule to inaugurate the beginning of this project. Local government representatives were also present to highlight the regional importance of the event.

" As part of the "Plant the Future" program, olive groves were planted with state support in more than 3,000 ha of area across the country. Most of them are planted in Dedopliskaro municipality. Every year, we expect an increased harvest. As olive harvests grow, it becomes increasingly crucial to process these products domestically, creating added value and contributing to local economies. The new enterprise will enhance this process, provide employment opportunities, and benefit local farmers", said Mr Otar Shamugia.

According to Giorgi Svanidze, the Head of the "Georgian Olive" company, with the support of state programs, he planted an olive garden with a million trees. The construction of a new enterprise near the garden area will be completed in nine months.

Giorgi Svanidze, Head of "Georgian Olive," expressed gratitude for the state's support, revealing that the company's olive groves now comprise one million trees. The new factory, located near these groves, is expected to be completed in nine months and will become one of the largest and most modern enterprises in the region; equipped with state-of-the-art technology, it will be capable of processing Georgia's entire olive harvest.

The factory will create up to 250 new jobs, mostly employing locals, and produce high-quality Extra Virgin olive oil and olive-based marinades for local market and export. This project represents a significant step forward for the Georgian olive sector, contributing to its long-term sustainability and growth.
