Tengiz Nasaridze meets with Bora Turan, Managing Director of the International Consulting Company NFB.
Mr Tengiz Nasaridze, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, and Mr Bora Turan, Managing Director of the International Consulting Company NFB, have signed a pivotal agreement to prepare a socio-economic feasibility study for the Ilto Reservoir. The agreement also includes a comprehensive safety assessment of the Khorkhori, Mtis Dziri, Yakublo, Pantiani, and Narekvavi dams.
“This is the first time in the history of independent Georgia that a project of such a scale is being implemented. This initiative is vital to ensuring a sustainable supply of irrigation water to agricultural land across the country,” stated Mr Tengiz Nasaridze.
It is worth mentioning that the main areas of activity of the international consulting company NFB are the preparation of socio-economic studies, detailed design, environmental assessment, hydraulic modelling, early warning systems, and flood management plans for dams, hydroelectric power stations, river basins, irrigation, and drinking water systems.
NFB brings extensive experience to this partnership, having conducted detailed studies for over 12 large-scale dams. Notable projects include:
Kaynarca Dam (Turkey): Standing 116.50 meters tall with a capacity of 189.92 million cubic meters, it serves irrigation, drinking water, and energy purposes.
Düzbag Dam (Turkey): with a height of 169 meters and a capacity of 182.52 million cubic meters, it similarly supports irrigation, drinking water, and energy needs.
