David Songhulashvili: “During this period, we worked on several significant legislative initiatives aimed at regulating various sectoral activities and providing legislative support for economic reforms.”

At the joint session of the Finance and Budget, Sectoral Economy and Economic Policy, Agrarian Issues, Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, and Regional Policy and Self-Government Committees of the11th Convocation of the Parliament of Georgia, the  members heard from the candidate for the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. David Songhulashvili.

 

“It has been a great honor for me to collaborate with my colleagues on addressing legislative challenges within this historic institution. However, the Prime Minister’s nomination of my candidacy for the position of Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture carries a unique responsibility. I am prepared to dedicate all my strength, energy, and experience to advancing this field,” stated Mr. Songhulashvili during his remarks at the committee session.

 

Mr. Songhulashvili reflected on the accomplishments of the past four years as part of the Sectoral Economy and Economic Policy Committee:

 

“During this period, we worked on several significant legislative initiatives aimed at regulating various sectoral activities and supporting economic reforms. The draft laws developed and reviewed during this time in various parliamentary formats contributed to the country’s progress and created a favourable environment for the development of multiple sectors.

 

The Committee has always been open to dialogue and cooperation with the private sector, representatives of international organizations, and stakeholders in the economic sector. We remained focused on addressing the country’s economic challenges and needs, which were met with responsive actions from the Committee,” he noted.

 

Mr. Songhulashvili expressed gratitude to the committee members for their productive collaboration and to the Committee’s staff for their professionalism and dedication.

 

“Special thanks go to the Tenth Convocation of Parliament and Mr. Shalva Papuashvili for their cooperation, friendship, and support. Above all, I extend my deepest appreciation to our voters, who have placed their trust in me since 2016. Their confidence has allowed me to contribute to the country’s development, economic progress, and the well-being of its people to the best of my ability,” stated Mr. Songhulashvili.
