Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Davit Songulashvili Meets Turkish Ambassador Ali Kaan Orbay.
Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mr. Davit Songulashvili, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Georgia, Mr. Ali Kaan Orbay.
The Turkish Ambassador extended his congratulations to the Minister on his recent appointment and wished him success in his future endeavors.
During the meeting, the two sides explored opportunities to strengthen trade and economic ties between Georgia and Turkey.
“As you know, agriculture plays a crucial role in Georgia’s economic development. We are keen to learn from Turkey’s experience in this field. The strong friendship and partnership between our nations provide a solid foundation for effective collaboration,” said Minister Songulashvili.
The Minister emphasized the importance of diversifying markets to ensure sustainable growth and resilience in the agricultural sector.
Ambassador Orbay highlighted the historical friendship and close partnership between the two countries, underscoring these ties as a significant factor in fostering cooperation across multiple areas.
Discussions included deepening collaboration in fisheries, livestock management, irrigation systems, forestry, waste management, and agricultural mechanization. The parties focused on enhancing the export of Georgian products to Turkey and forging closer ties between Georgian wine producers and the Turkish HoReCa (Hotel, Restaurant, Café) sector.
Representatives from relevant departments of the Ministry also participated in the meeting.
