Perennial crop production increased by 133.6 thousand tonnes in 2024

In 2024, perennial crop production reached 620.5 thousand tonnes, marking an increase of 133.6 thousand tonnes (27.4%) compared to the previous year.

 

 This growth was largely driven by significant gains in the grapes, apples, peaches, and plums production.
Specifically, grape production surged by 100.8 thousand tonnes (45.7%), apples rose by 26.3 thousand tonnes (52.2%), and peaches and nectarines saw an increase of 10.4 thousand tonnes (35.4%).

 

Additionally, there was notable growth in other perennial crops. Hazelnut production grew by 17.1% (6.3 thousand tonnes), pear production rose by 20.2% (1.9 thousand tonnes), and berry production increased by 32.8% (1.9 thousand tons). This overall rise highlights the expanding production of a diverse range of perennial crops.
