Working Meeting Held Between Georgian Delegation and FAO Representative in Budapest.

As part of their official visit to Hungary, the delegation of the  Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia held a working meeting with Mr. Raymond Jehle, Head of the Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
The First Deputy Minister, Mrs. Nino Tandilashvili, and the Deputy Minister, Mr. Lasha Dolidze, met with Mr. Jehle at the FAO’s Regional Office in Budapest to discuss ongoing projects and opportunities for future cooperation.

 

During the meeting, the First Deputy Minister, Mrs. Tandilashvili, emphasized the significance of the long-standing partnership between the Ministry and FAO, expressing gratitude for FAO's continuous support and close collaboration over the years.

 

According to Deputy Minister Mr. Lasha Dolidze, several significant agricultural and rural advancement projects are currently being implemented in Georgia with FAO’s assistance.

 

The discussions focused on key areas such as the development of climate-smart agriculture, increasing food production, deepening cooperation to address rural poverty, and supporting land consolidation initiatives.

 

According to Mr. Raymond Jehle,  Georgia is an important regional partner for FAO. He also emphasized  FAO’s ongoing commitment to supporting the development of Georgia’s agricultural sector, enhancing food safety, and advancing the transformation of food systems.

Mr. Giorgi Darchia, Director of the Rural Development Agency under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, attended the meeting.
