Ministry will finance projects next year as well

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili plans to hold meetings with farmers in different regions of Georgia. The first meeting was held in Gori, Shida Kartli region, where the Minister met with about 300 farmers and provided them with the information about 2018 projects and future plans.
The progress achieved in the agricultural sector in recent years as well as policy implemented by the Ministry was underlined by the Minister at the meeting. "The 2018 budget is increased by 35 million GEL, from which the main part will be directed towards financing agricultural projects. ‘’We held a meeting in Shida Kartli region today, although the Ministry plans to hold meetings with farmers  in all regions of Georgia and provide them with the  information about the results of the existing projects, and to get familiar them with the new initiatives that are envisaged next year "said Levan Davitashvili.
The importance of meeting with farmers was stressed by the Governor of Shida Kartli region,  Giorgi Khojevanishvili, who also noted, that permanent communication between the Government and citizens are underway.
"Agriculture is a progressive sector and it is very important to have close communication with farmers. That will enable state projects to meet the needs of farmers and respond to modern challenges. The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture will continue financing of agricultural projects next year as well which is very important. "- Giorgi Khojevanishvili stated.
The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Giorgi Khanishvili, and Shida Kartli Regional Governor,  Giorgi Khojevanishvili attended the meeting, which was was held at the Gori State Teaching University (GTU) Hall.
