New meat processing enterprise is opened in Kakheti region
Meat processing new enterprise Geonaturals" Ltd. is opened in Dedoplistskaro municipality. The enterprise created within the frame of the "Unified Agro Project" is equipped with modern standards.Â
The company is the beneficiary of the co-financing project ’’Agro - Processing and Storage Enterprises". Totally US 380,660 was invested in the enterprise, 152,300 USD is grant and 190,300 USD preferential agro credit. The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili accompanied by the First Deputy Governor of Kakheti region, Irakli Shioshvili and Adviser of the Prime Minister for regional development issues, Sozar Subari opened the enterprise.
Ltd. Geonaturals" plans to produce more than 100 tons of different kinds of canned meat annually. At the first stage, products will be sold at the local market, although export is also planned in the future. At present 20 people are employed in the enterprise. The company produces 4 different types of tinned products under the brand name "Sadili".
International Standards for Food Safety - ISO 22 000 has been introduced in the company through financial support of the Agricultural Projects Management Agency. The financial support of the state has given the entrepreneurs an additional push to further develop and expand their companies. Since 2013, with the help of the state, 173 new enterprises have been financed under the "Unified Agro Project".
57 new enterprises have been established in Kakheti region so far. Agricultural Projects Management Agency carries out a unified agro project, is focused on long-term goals aiming to increase competitiveness and long-term development of the agricultural sector, stable growth of high quality products as well as introduction of international food standard standards.
