Minister David Songulashvili Visits Kvareli Minicipality to Assess Forest Service Working Conditions
The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. David Songulashvili, accompanied by State Representative in the Kakheti Region, Mr. Giorgi Aladashvili, and Chairman of the Committee on Regional Policy and Self-Government, Mr. Irakli Kadagishvili, visited Forest Service employees in Kvareli Municipality to observe their working conditions firsthand.
The Kakheti Forest Service employs 15 foresters and 57 forest guards. The facility is equipped with high-standard inventory and modern equipment, enabling effective operation. Moreover, the local community benefits from all the services of the National Forestry Agency.
During the meeting with Forest Service staff, Minister Songulashvili emphasized the importance of improving working conditions and strengthening the social guarantees for employees, noting that the implementation of recent legislative amendments has significantly enhanced the protection and support of forestry personnel.
The Minister also noted that the National Forestry Agency ensures life and health insurance for all foresters. Additionally, employees who identify illegal logging activities, specifically, often challenging tasks, are eligible for incentives, boosting their motivation and engagement.
The National Forestry Agency unites and oversees nine regional forest services in the country.
