David Songulashvili: “Effective feedback between producers, farmers, and the state is essential for enhancing state programs and developing the private sector.”

Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. David Songulashvili, visited the Kvemo Kartli and Kakheti regions, where he toured enterprises and agricultural projects established with state support.

During his visit, the Minister met with farmers and entrepreneurs who have benefited from the  Rural Development Agency programs.

According to Minister Songulashvili, fostering continuous dialogue between producers, farmers, and the government is crucial for refining state programs and driving the development of the private sector.

“It is essential for us to closely examine the projects implemented with state funding, to meet with the farmers and entrepreneurs benefiting from this support, assess the outcomes and see how successful they are. Understanding their needs and challenges allows us to determine what type of additional assistance may be required to advance their operations. This kind of direct engagement is key to building a complete agricultural value chain and strengthening the country’s economy,” said Songulashvili.

The Minister emphasized that such meetings in the regions will continue intensively. Through direct communication, the Ministry aims to get comprehensive insights into the specific needs of farmers and producers, ensuring that the government provides support for them, which will ultimately accelerate the pace of Georgia’s economic growth.
