David Songulashvili Participates in Paris Ministerial and Delivers Keynote Address.



The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mr. David Songulashvili, delivered a keynote address at the Ministerial meeting held within the framework of the 92nd General Session of the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) in Paris.

 

The high-level session was attended by Agriculture Ministers and representatives from approximately 20 countries.

 

 

In his remarks, Minister Songulashvili emphasized the crucial role of the World Organization for Animal Health in strengthening global veterinary systems and highlighted the importance of expanding educational initiatives, enhancing veterinary capacities, and ensuring equitable access to vaccines in the fight against animal diseases.


 

"We reaffirm our readiness to cooperate with the World Organization for Animal Health and its member states to contribute to the effective control of animal diseases globally. This collaboration supports the One Health approach, which is vital for environmental protection, agricultural sustainability, food safety and security, and the overall improvement of public well-being," stated Minister Songulashvili.




Under the Ministerial meeting, Minister Songulashvili held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Spain, France, Kenya, and Morocco. 
WOAH, comprising 183 member countries, plays a pivotal role in setting international standards for animal health. Georgia has been a member of the organization since 1992.

 

Mrs. Ekaterine Kokaia, Acting Ambassador of Georgia to the French Republic accompanied the Minister.
