The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Celebrates Georgia’s Independence Day in Telavi.

As part of the festivity events celebrating Georgia's Independence Day, the Rural Development Agency of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture is hosting citizens at the central square in Telavi.
During the event, the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. David Songulashvili, visited the various spaces set up in Telavi.

 

“May 26' is a special and symbolic day for our nation. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to every citizen of Georgia. Preserving freedom and independence is a continuous effort that demands vigilance every moment. Economic strength is a key pillar of national autonomy and sustainable development. Today, the Ministry is proudly represented in Telavi, Akhaltsikhe, and Kutaisi. In Telavi, the Rural Development Agency is actively engaging with citizens, showcasing the support mechanisms and opportunities available through our programs,” stated Minister Songulashvili.
 

 

Several high-ranking officials joined the Minister, including:
Mr Gela Samkharauli, Chairman of the Agrarian Issues Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, Mr Irakli Kadagishvili, the Chairman of the Regional Policy and Self-Government Committee, Mr David Matikashvili, the Chairman of the Procedural Issues and Rules Committee, Mr Giorgi Darchia, the Director of the Rural Development Agency, Mr Giorgi Aladashvili, State Representative in the Kakheti Region, Mr Levan Andriashvili, Mayor of Telavi Municipality, and Abba David (Makharadze), Metropolitan of Alaverdi. 

 

The central square of Telavi has been transformed into a vibrant and interactive space where guests can explore various activities and exhibitions, including:

 

  • A showcase of products by beneficiaries of the Rural Development Agency
  • A Georgian wine-tasting corner
  • A culinary masterclass featuring traditional Kakhetian dishes
  • An educational and recreational area for children
  • A parade of costumed performers and a children’s theatrical performance
  • An exhibition of the Defense Forces' military equipment
  • A photo zone for commemorative pictures
  • An exhibit featuring replicas of ancient artefacts from the museum collection “Georgia- the Homeland of Wine”

 

At 17:10, a solemn celebration will mark the historic moment of Georgia’s declaration of independence.

 

The festivities will culminate with a grand gala concert, bringing the celebration to a joyful close.
