David Songulashvili: "Project documentation is being prepared for the construction of a new regional office for the Environmental Supervision Department in Rustavi."

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. David Songulashvili, met with the staff of the Environmental Supervision Department in the Kvemo Kartli Regional Office.



The Minister toured the regional office, where he got familiar with the work process and received information from the staff regarding the current situation in the region, challenges, and the activities of the employees.

 

 

As mentioned, in the Kvemo Kartli region, particularly in the industrial zone, significant attention is being given to improving atmospheric air quality. In addition to regular inspections of enterprises, the staff in Rustavi also monitors visible vehicle emissions on the roads. Furthermore, priority areas in Kvemo Kartli include combating poaching and illegal forest exploitation.

 

 “Strengthening the capacities of regional offices is crucial in the implementation of planned activities. The Environmental Supervision Department is an Agency whose successful functioning is essential for reducing environmental pollution, preventing poaching, and protecting forest resources. Efforts to strengthen the agency are ongoing without interruption. Part of this process involves the construction and rehabilitation of regional offices. Moreover, the land has already been selected, and the project documentation is being prepared for the construction of a new regional office in Rustavi,” stated Mr. David Songulashvili.

 

The Deputy Minister, Mr. Kakha Kakabadze, the State Representative in the Kvemo Kartli region, Mr. Levan Kharabadze, and the Head of the Environmental Supervision Department, Mr. Levan Jgharkava, accompanied the Minister.
