David Songulashvili gets familiar with the operations of the dairy processing plant
The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. David Songulashvili, accompanied by the Director of the Rural Development Agency, Mr. Giorgi Darchia, visited the village of Teleti in the Gardabani Municipality.
During their visit, the officials learned about the operational processes at the "Teleti Dairy Products" milk processing plant, which was established with state support.
The Rural Development Agency supported the establishment of the dairy processing plant through the "Co-Financing Program for Processing and Storage Enterprises" with a grant of GEL 350,000. The plant processes 5 tonnes of milk daily and produces different types of cheese.
The company sells its products to chain restaurants, hotels, and through its store in Tbilisi. The enterprise employs 35 people.
The Minister met with farmers and entrepreneurs who benefited from the Rural Development Agency programs.
"In recent years, the growth of agricultural production has been a result of targeted projects implemented by the Government. For more than a decade, our farmers and entrepreneurs have had access to subsidized financial resources, agricultural machinery, technologies, and international markets. The state support continues, and it is crucial to have direct communication with those involved in production and to learn more about their needs," stated Mr. David Songulashvili.
Notably, under the "Co-Financing Program for Processing and Storage Enterprises" of the Rural Development Agency, over GEL 130 million has been allocated for the creation of 281 enterprises across Georgia.
21 processing and storage enterprises have been co-financed with a total of GEL 9.6 million in the Kvemo Kartli region alone.
The Deputy Minister, Mr. Kaha Kakabadze, the State Representative in the Kvemo Kartli region, Mr. Levan Kharabadze, and the Mayor of Gardabani Municipality, Mr. David Kargareteli, accompanied the Minister.
