David Songulashvili: "Professionalism and motivation of employees are crucial for the implementation of our policy."
The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. David Songulashvili, together with the State Representative of the Kvemo Kartli region, Mr. Levan Kharabadze, met with forestry service staff in Bolnisi Municipality and observed their work firsthand.
The Kvemo Kartli Forestry Service employs eighty-one staff members, including nine foresters and forty-two forest rangers.
During the meeting, Mr. David Songulashvili emphasized the importance of sustainable forest management and the vital role each employee of the National Forestry Agency plays in this process.
"I want to emphasize that the professionalism and motivation of our employees are essential for the successful implementation of our policy. Continuous efforts are being made in this regard," stated Mr. David Songulashvili, Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.
It is worth mentioning that the National Forestry Agency prioritizes the following areas, including improving the sanitary condition of forests, conducting forest inventories, and preparing management plans.
Additionally, the Agency focuses on sustainable multifunctional forest use and increasing lawful access to timber, which involves introducing a new mechanism for supplying firewood to the population.
The Minister also emphasized the importance of multifunctional forest use, noting that the sustainable use of non-timber forest resources and the development of ecotourism in the region create additional jobs while providing local communities with new income opportunities.
The Deputy Minister, Mr. Kakha Kakabadze, and the Head of the National Forestry Agency, Mr. Kakha Tsertsvadze, also attended the meeting.
