David Songulashvili meets with employees of the Mtskheta-Mtianeti Regional Forestry Service

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. David Songulashvili, met with the employees of the Mtskheta-Mtianeti Forestry Service and got familiar with their working conditions on site.

The Mtskheta-Mtianeti Regional Forestry Service employs 136 employees, including 9 foresters and 64 forest guards. The rehabilitated Forestry Service office serves the population of 4 municipalities in the region. The local population enjoys the services of the National Forestry Agency in the renovated space.


During the meeting, the Minister reviewed current issues in the forestry sector. As mentioned, foresters have highly responsible, challenging, and high-risk jobs.

Minister Songulashvili emphasized the importance of providing social guarantees for foresters and legislative improvements that boost motivation and employee engagement.



The Deputy Minister, Mr. Kakha Kakabadze, State Representative in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti Region, Mr. Aleksandre Zagashvili, Delegate of the Mtskheta-Mtianeti Region, Mr. Dimitri Khundadze, Head of the National Forestry Agency, Mr. Kakha Tsertsvadze, and representatives of local self-government accompanied the Minister.
