David Songulashvili: “Production Is Increasing with State Assistance, as Reflected in Concrete Results”
The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. David Songulashvili, visited LTD Food Alliance, a frozen bread and pastry production enterprise located in the village of Natakhtari, Mtskheta Municipality.
During the visit, Minister Songulashvili highlighted the upward trend in agricultural and food production across the country, attributing this growth to the effective implementation of state support programs.
“Production is increasing with state assistance, as reflected in specific numbers. These results confirm the decisive role that government programs play in the development of the agricultural and food processing sectors. Georgian products are strengthening their positions both in local and export markets,” stated Minister Songulashvili.
LTD Food Alliance is a beneficiary of the Rural Development Agency and has repeatedly received support through the Preferential Agrocredit program to expand production capacity and upgrade technological infrastructure. The enterprise currently manufactures up to 80 types of products and employs 135 staff.
The company supplies its products across Georgia, including to the HoReCa sector (hotels, restaurants, and cafes) and major retail chains. The facility is equipped with modern production technologies, refrigeration systems, and meets international food safety standards, including FSSC 22000.
Notably, under the Preferential Agrocredit program, from 2013 to June 30, 2025, a total of 8 loans worth GEL 29 million were issued for bread production alone, with more than GEL 5.5 million in co-financing provided by the Rural Development Agency.
The Minister was accompanied by Deputy Minister Mr. Kakha Kakabadze, State Representative in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti Region Mr. Aleksandre Zagashvili, Regional Delegate Mr. Dimitri Khundadze, and representatives of local self-government.
