David Songulashvili Opens New Regional Office of the National Food Agency in Natakhtari

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. David Songulashvili, officially opened the new building of the Mtskheta-Mtianeti Regional Department of the National Food Agency in the village of Natakhtari. During the visit, the Minister toured the facility and met with agency staff.

 
Emphasizing the importance of institutional development, Minister Songulashvili stated:

 
“Today marks the opening of the National Food Agency’s own office in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region. The facility is fully equipped to provide employees with modern working conditions and to ensure that local residents have access to high-quality services and state programs.”

 
The National Food Agency plays a crucial role in ensuring food safety across all municipalities of Georgia. The agency regularly inspects public catering establishments, kindergartens, school canteens, slaughterhouses, and meat retail outlets.

 

In support of livestock development, agency veterinarians conduct essential veterinary procedures, including free vaccinations against rabies, anthrax, Newcastle disease (Turkish plague), and brucellosis. Additionally, plant protection specialists actively carry out pest control measures to safeguard crops and ensure agricultural sustainability.



The Minister was accompanied by Deputy Minister Mr. Kakha Kakabadze, State Representative in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti Region Mr. Aleksandre Zagashvili, Heads of the National Food Agency, and representatives of local self-government.
