State-Financed Enterprise Exports Dried Fruits to Germany

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. David Songulashvili, visited the village of Misaktsieli in the Mtskheta Municipality to observe operations at the fruit processing enterprise Caucasus Organic Fruits.

The company was established with financial support from the Rural Development Agency and benefits from two state programs: Preferential Agrocredit and Co-financing of Processing and Storage Enterprises. Utilizing locally sourced raw materials, the enterprise has the capacity to produce up to 35 tonnes of dried fruit annually. Its products are currently exported to Germany.

“The development of value-added agricultural enterprises is a priority for the Ministry. Supporting modern, export-oriented businesses strengthens the sector and creates new economic opportunities in the regions,” stated Minister Songulashvili during the visit.

To date, 111 processing enterprises have been established under the Co-financing of Processing and Storage Enterprises program, with the Rural Development Agency providing over GEL 51 million in co-financing. Of these, 11 enterprises have been launched in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region alone, receiving a total of GEL 5.3 million in support.
