David Songulashvili: “The 2025 grape harvest will be exceptional; a differentiated, higher price has been established for high-quality grapes, which further encourages the improvement of grape quality.”

Following today’s Government meeting, the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. David Songulashvili, commented on the ongoing grape harvest season.

According to the Minister, a key innovation this year is the introduction of a differentiated pricing system for high-quality grapes.

“The grape harvest, the main agricultural product in Georgia, has launched. This is a special time and season for our viticulturists. At the beginning of the year, we announced that a differentiated price would be applied to quality grapes, representing one of the most significant innovations. A higher, differentiated price has been set for high-quality grapes, which further incentivizes improvements in grape quality. We are already seeing the results today, with a large portion of the harvest classified as high-quality, indicating that our policy has been successful.

Moving forward, there will be an even greater focus on high-quality grapes. At this stage, I want to say that the 2025 grape harvest will be exceptional,” said Minister Songulashvili.
