Israeli Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Visits Fish Farming Enterprise
Mr. Lasha Dolidze, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, briefed Mr. Avi Dichter, Israel’s Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, on the activities of a state-supported fish farming enterprise in the Shida Kartli region.
The company LLC "DS Fish Group" is a beneficiary of the Agricultural Development Agency and has repeatedly utilized the "Preferential Agrocredit" program. The company, which produces approximately 250 tonnes of various fish species annually, employs over 100 people. Fresh and processed fish products are sold through the company’s branded stores and restaurants.
The Israeli delegation expressed interest in Georgia’s agri-food enterprises, including the potential for fish production.
It is worth mentioning that the Government of Georgia supports the development of fisheries and aquaculture in the country. The state backs the entire production chain in the aquaculture sector.
Mr. Giorgi Avaliani, Acting Director of the Agricultural Development Agency, Israel’s newly appointed Ambassador to Georgia, Mr. Walid Abu Haia, and representatives of the Georgia-Israel Chamber of Commerce accompanied the Minister.
