David Songulashvili hosted the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus
Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. David Songulashvili, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Georgia, Mr. Nikolai Rogashchuk.
During the meeting, the parties focused on expanding bilateral trade turnover in agricultural products and deepening environmental cooperation.
“Our countries have always enjoyed close economic cooperation; however, there is still significant potential for increasing trade turnover. The current trend is positive, and bilateral trade is increasing annually, thus we can significantly increase exports of apples, citrus fruits, and persimmons, including non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages,” noted Mr. David Songulashvili.
The parties focused on enhancing cooperation opportunities of protected areas and national parks, as well as implementing joint projects to protect endangered species.
“We are always ready to deepen cooperation, both in the field of environmental protection and agriculture. In recent years, the export of Belarusian products to Georgia has been steadily growing, which further strengthens our partnership. Currently, 32 Belarusian stores are already operating in the country, which clearly reflects the trend of development of bilateral trade relations,” Mr. Nikolay Rogashchuk stated.
The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. Kakha Kakabadze, attended the meeting.
