Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture David Songulashvili hosted the Members of the “Students Parliament and the Government of Georgia”
“I would like to thank you for your interest in the work of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture. The engagement of youth is crucial, especially in environmental protection and agricultural areas. The future of our country depends on active, educated, and motivated youth. We are ready for open cooperation and willing to support your initiatives,” said Minister David Songulashvili.
During the meeting, the Minister answered questions posed by the members of the Georgian Student Parliament and the Government.
Mr. Songulashvili briefed the participants on the Ministry's main areas of activity. The discussion covered climate change mitigation and adaptation measures, waste management and recycling policies, biodiversity protection, improvements in air and water quality, and the importance of environmental education.
In the agricultural sector, the discussion focused on promoting ecological and sustainable practices in viticulture and winemaking. The Minister also highlighted the critical importance of strengthening food safety measures and improving quality standards.
Deputy Minister, Mr. Lasha Avaliani, also attended the meeting.
