David Songulashvili Meets David Bitan, Head of the Israel–Georgia Friendship Group and Chair of the Knesset Economic Affairs Committee

As part of his working visit to the State of Israel, the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mr. David Songulashvili, met with Mr. David Bitan, Head of the Israel–Georgia Friendship Group and Chair of the Knesset Economic  Affairs Committee.
 

The Minister thanked Mr. Bitan for his long-standing and active contribution to strengthening Georgia–Israel relations and emphasized the importance of the cooperation for both countries.


During the meeting, the parties focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in agriculture and innovation, including efforts to create favorable trade conditions and expand the export potential of Georgian agri-food products. 

According to Minister Songulashvili, Israeli experience and innovations present significant opportunities for the development of Georgia’s agri-technology sector and high-value crops.
 

The Minister underscored the importance of the Knesset’s support in strengthening institutional cooperation between the two countries’ Ministries and extended an invitation to Mr. Bitan to visit Georgia. According to him, a reciprocal visit would help elevate Georgia–Israel sectoral partnership to a new stage.

 
The Deputy Minister Mr. Lasha Dolidze, Georgia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the State of Israel, Mr. Zaza Kandelaki, and Georgia’s Honorary Consul, Mr. Meni Ben Ishai, accompanied the Minister David Songulashvili.
