During his visit to Israel, the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, David Songulashvili, was hosted in the Old City of Jerusalem by the Israeli Minister of Agriculture and Food Security.

As part of the official visit of the delegation from the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia to the State of Israel, a tour of Jerusalem’s historic district was organized at the initiative of the Israeli Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Mr Avi Dichter.


Members of the Georgian delegation explored remarkable historical sites of outstanding global significance, including the Western Wall and its subterranean tunnels, where numerous important archaeological discoveries have been made recently, and intensive research is currently underway.

Mr Songulashvili expressed his gratitude to the Israeli side for the warm reception and for the opportunity to become acquainted with this exceptional heritage.

The official visit to the State of Israel aims to deepen the Georgia–Israel partnership in the agricultural and food safety sectors and facilitate the exchange of experiences in these relevant areas.
