Exports of Hazelnuts and Fruit from Georgia Rise Sharply in August–December 2025
From August 1 to December 28, 2025, Georgia experienced a significant increase in exports of agri-food products, particularly hazelnuts and seasonal fruits.This growth was particularly evident in hazelnut exports: during the mentioned period, 10.9 thousand tonnes of hazelnuts were exported, with a total value of USD 109.7 million. Compared to the same period last year, export volume increased by 173.7 tonnes, while export revenue rose by 67% (an increase of USD 43.9 million). The average export price of hazelnuts reached USD 10.04 per kg, which is 69% higher than in the corresponding period of the previous year.
The main export markets for Georgian hazelnuts were EU countries, including Italy, Spain, Germany, France, Greece, the Czech Republic, and Poland, which collectively imported 7,100 tonnes.
In addition to hazelnut exports, apple exports also saw substantial increases. From August to December, 9.7 thousand tonnes of apples were exported, generating USD 7.0 million in revenue. Compared to the same period last year, apple exports increased by 31% (2.3 thousand tonnes), while revenues grew by 49% (USD 2.3 million). The average export price of apples was USD 0.73 per kg, up 14% year-on-year. Georgian apples were exported to Russia, Turkey, Belarus, Armenia, and Iraq.
From September 1 to December 28, 2025, Georgia exported 5.3 thousand tonnes of persimmons, with a total value of USD 3.9 million. The average export price stood at USD 0.75 per kg, representing an 11.1% increase compared to the same period last year. The main destinations for persimmons were Russia, Armenia, Ukraine, Turkey, Belarus, and Moldova.
During the same period, tangerine exports totalled 25.9 thousand tons, generating USD 15.2 million in revenue. The average export price of mandarins was USD 0.59 per kg, reflecting a 0.9% increase compared to the previous year. The primary export markets for Georgian mandarins included Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
