The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Addresses the Management of Non-Food Animal By-Products.
The Deputies of the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. Solomon Pavliashvili and Mr. Lasha Dolidze, met with the representatives of the private sector to discuss issues related to the management of non-food animal by-products.“Animal waste management is a significant challenge in Georgia. Proper handling of animal by-products generated at slaughterhouses, markets, and farms is critical from the perspectives of public health, environmental protection, and economic sustainability. Our task is to ensure the effective functioning of this system through coordinated cooperation with the business sector,” stated Mr. Solomon Pavliashvili.
According to Mr. Lasha Dolidze, the state will offer various support programs to the business sector.
“Currently, the programmatic reorganization process is underway at the Rural Development Agency. We aim to revise existing or create new support programs, considering the needs and priorities of the business sector,” Mr. Lasha Dolidze stated.
The discussion also addressed the deadlines. As mentioned, the meetings in a working format will continue in the future.
Representatives from the National Food Agency, the National Environmental Agency, the Solid Waste Management Company, the Environmental Supervision Department, and the Waste and Chemicals Management Policy Department attended the meeting.
