"Clean the World! Clean Georgia! "

The First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Nodar Kereselidze together with the President of Georgia, Giorgi Margvelashvili participated in the International campaign "Clean Up the World! Clean Georgia! " which is held annually on September 15-16. The Head of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), Molly Lien along with the representatives of  American Embassy and co-chair of the Greens Movement of Georgia / Friends of the Earth - Georgia, Nino Chkhobadze participated in the cleaning activities. 
"Clean Up the World" campaign was established in 1992 by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and aims to improve the local environment. The campaign embraces representatives of government and business sectors of different countries, public organizations, as well as citizens to conduct wide range of cleaning activities. More than 140 countries are involved in the campaign at present.
The campaign was implemented with the financial support of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture together with the Swedish Government and is organized by the Greens Movement of Georgia / Friends of the Earth - Georgia, Union of Nature Researches of Georgia "Orkisi", Solid Waste Management Company, Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, International Campaign ‘’Let's Do IT’’,  Member  Organization of the Georgian National Platform, "Caucasus Youth Union" and CENN Program Waste Management Technology in Regions, Phase II, (WMTR II). The campaign is supported by the USAID.
