Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia paid a visit to Georgia

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili hosted the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia, Artur Khachatryan. At the meeting, the sides have been focused on future cooperation issues between the two countries. Levan Davitashvili provided Armenian counterpart with the information about state agricultural development programs. The Minister highlighted Rural Development Strategy and brought forward activities undertaken by the Agriculture Projects Management Agency, Agriculture Scientific Research Center and the Agricultural Cooperatives Agency.
"This is my first visit to Georgia in the capacity of a Minister. You have tangible progress in the agrarian sector. I got familiar with the ongoing agricultural news and hope to continue further fruitful cooperation with Georgian partners "said Arthur Khachatrian.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Giorgi Khanishvili and representatives of the Ministry of Justice.
Within the frame of the visit, Armenian delegation visited Jighaura, Agricultural Research Center, where they have seen -demonstration base of perennial crops. The Minister looked over the collection of grape vines and tasted wines from Georgian unique grape varieties. Armenian guests visited Ivane Sarishvili soil research and molecular marking laboratories (DNA laboratory) in village Tsilkani and got acquainted with the working process.
