Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, David Songulashvili, is paying an official working visit to Italy
During his working visit to the city of Verona, Minister Songulashvili toured the exhibition stands at ‘’Vinitaly’’, one of the most prominent international fairs dedicated to wine and spirits. Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Forestry of Italy, Mr. Francesco Lollobrigida, along with the President of the Verona Exhibition Centre, “Veronafiere,” Mr. Federico Bricolo, hosted the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mr. David Songulashvili, at the Exhibition Centre. Notably, Minister Songulashvili is paying a visit to Verona at the invitation of his Italian counterpart."Vinitaly" is a major international platform bringing together participants from over 30 countries and all Italian wine regions, featuring thematic discussions, tastings, and bilateral meetings, serving as a key venue for exploring trends in the wine sector.
As part of the "Vinitaly" program, Minister Songulashvili participated in the conference “Recognizing the Value of Global Vine and Wine Culture: International Perspectives.” In his remarks, he emphasized the significance of Georgian wine as an integral component of national identity, highlighting its cultural value and its growing importance in international markets.
The conference was opened with welcoming remarks by Mr. Francesco Lollobrigida and the European Commissioner for Agriculture and Food, Mr. Christophe Hansen. The panel discussion also featured distinguished participants, including Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of Serbia, Mr. Dragan Glamočić; Director General of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV), Mr. John Barker; President of the European Committee of Wine Companies, Mrs. Marzia Varvaglione; and President of the organization “Wine in Moderation,” Mr. Sandro Sartor.
