As of April 1, 2026, the production (except for export purposes), import, and placing on the market of plastic cutlery (forks, knives, spoons, and chopsticks), plates, straws, drink stirrers, as well as expanded polystyrene (EPS) food containers/cups and their lids, are prohibited.

In addition, within the framework of public procurement, the purchase of plastic cups, containers, and beverages in plastic bottles of up to 3 liters is also banned.

From July 1, 2026, food service establishments will be prohibited from serving ready-to-eat food in single-use plastic food containers and cups.

Furthermore, the provision of beverages to consumers in plastic bottles by food service establishments will also be prohibited.

From February 1, 2031, the production (except for export purposes), import, and placing on the market of beverages in plastic bottles will be prohibited. The restriction will not apply to drinking water in containers of 3 liters or more, and other beverages in containers of 20 liters or more.
