David Songulashvili Gets Familiar with the Activities of the Italian Agro-Industrial Group “Bonifiche Ferraresi”
As part of his official visit to Italy, the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. David Songulashvili, met with the leadership of the Italian agro-industrial group “Bonifiche Ferraresi” and got acquainted with the company's activities. The Group brings together major agro-industrial enterprises in Italy, focusing on advancing all segments of the agri-food value chain through modern approaches. 'Bonifiche Ferraresi' is running international projects, enhancing workforce qualifications, spreading agricultural technology, and developing digital platforms.
“We believe that Georgia is a strategically important country with the potential to become a logistics hub. The country holds strong potential for internal development as well as for serving as a key connecting corridor. One of the key objectives of the BF Group is the export of its advanced technologies, and the company fully meets the demands of the agro-industrial sector,” stated Mr. Giovanni Mazotti, the Corporate Executive at the Company ''Bonifiche Ferraresi'.
During the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of adopting modern technologies in agricultural production, ensuring high standards of quality and safety, and advancing digital management systems. The sides also discussed prospects for future cooperation.
“During the meeting with one of the largest agro-industrial groups, we discussed the sharing of practical knowledge and experience in Georgia, which will support the development of effective business models and provide significant support for the advancement of agricultural production,” stated the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. David Songulashvili.
Mr. Theodorico Nanni, Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to Georgia; Mrs. Natalia Kordzaia, Consul General of Georgia in Milan; and Mr. David Chitaishvili, Head of the Department of European Integration and International Relations of the Ministry, accompanied the Minister.
